japanese maglev train

The prototype for the new Japanese world-famous magnetic levitation train, or ‘maglev’, clocked up a sustained 374mph for just over a mile on a stretch of test track near Mount Fiji. Hey, speed isn’t everything! In any case, similar train technology wouldn’t work in the UK. I can envisage…to quote Gwyneth Paltrow…carriages suffering from ‘conscious uncoupling’, and everyone dying! On the occasions I travel by train, I don’t want to see the world whizzing past in a blur. I want to be able to relish the scenery…cattle rustling, adults copulating in fields, illegal ‘rubbish’ dumping sites, detention centres for undesirables, immigrant shanty towns, UFO breakers yards and travelling VD clinics! Sometimes, less is more!
