WHEN COLOURS RUN…AND RUN!

joseph's dreamcoat

In order to mark the 50th anniversary of ‘Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’, Andrew Lloyd Webber is in talks with a London theatre about staging a new production of his and Tim Rice’s hit show. My late cousin William was a stage hand on the original 1973 West End production. He once told me the usually placid Lloyd Webber blew a gasket when someone placed Joseph’s amazing Technicolor dreamcoat in a washing machine alongside several of the cast members white costumes. Guess what, the colours ran, which led to cost overrun. I guess today, colours running wouldn’t be a big issue. The audience would simply assume the cast was showing support for the LGBT movement!
