While the British Government insists on sending £13 billion of taxpayers money abroad in foreign aid each and every year, please spare a thought for the thousands of UK citizens forced to attend over-stretched and under-manned A & E departments. Ambulances that have taken only 8-minutes to responded to an emergency call, face queuing for up to 2-hours outside hospitals while earlier emergencies are being dealt with. Should you survive the long wait, you may well find yourself on a bed in a corridor, or worse, in a store room! Is there an answer for poor service? Certainly there is! If you happen to have cut off your arm with a chainsaw, perhaps it might be best to fly to Gambia and seek out doctors from Medecins Sans Frontieres? Do make sure your severed arm is tagged...’hand luggage’, otherwise you may be charged an arm and a leg!
