What’s trending…placenta takeaway! More and more Western mothers and couples are opting to take the placenta home with them, along with the new-born baby. Hospitals are only to happy to present new parents with a vacuum sealed placenta, after all, it saves on disposing of hospital waste. The nutritional value of the placenta cannot be overestimated. Whereas eating it may provide a vital meal for poor, indigenous Africans and Asians, here in the developed West, sampling the afterbirth is a more celebratory experience. Whether consuming the placenta contributes to a long-lasting marriage, has yet to be determined, however, it is doubtful eating the placenta will ever replace a plate of eel pie, chip and mushy peas!
