no farting

Yes folks, sadly it is true,  the Japanese find out social habits quite disgusting! A Japanese tourism board (The Hokkaido Tourism Organization) has called on foreign tourists to refrain from public “belching or flatulence” in an etiquette guide, dedicating an entire section to protocol for avoiding bodily functions. Foreign tourists are strongly urged to performing bodily functions as discreetly as possible so as not to cause discomfort or nuisance to others, such as in restaurants! It would appear then, taking off one’s shoes as a mark of respect in a Japanese home or restaurant is no longer enough to placate some Asians! We heathens are now expected to hold in our burps and farts! Huh? Where and how then do the Japanese dispose of personal gas? This remains a f**king mystery!
