DO YOU HAVE AN ‘APPETITE’ FOR POLITICS?

sausage rollsUkip candidate Kim Rose, who is standing in the Southampton Itchen parliamentary ward in May’s general erection, has been reported to Hampshire Police for the illegal practice of ‘treating’, or trying to corruptly influence voters who have yet to make up their minds as to which party they will support, by handing out free teas, coffees, sandwiches and sausage rolls. And as you all know, ‘treating’ in such circumstances is contrary to the Representation of the People Act 1983.

Oh how f**king ridiculous, and typically…English! As if swing voters are going to be influenced by such treats! I mean it’s not as if the food came from Pret a Manger, is it? Who but a dolt would sell their vote for a sausage roll? I can only imagine the furore had would-be MP Mr Rose handed out fried slices of black & white pudding! Interesting isn’t it, meagre treating remains illegal, yet it’s fine to lie your way into office by making promises of community support potentially worth billions, only to brake those promises once you attain power! I mourn for my country!!
